GoTo Group launched the Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis) program as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. The program has reached more than 10.000 beneficiary students in 31 schools across 13 cities/ regencies namely Bogor, East Jakarta, Bekasi, Bandung, Solo, Semarang, Surabaya, Malang, Medan, Makassar, Banjarmasin, Pekanbaru, and Palembang.

INDEF research on MBG CSR GoTo program, conducted from May 2024 to September 2024 found that the program has been shown to result in the addition of 3 workers per MSMEs and a 33.7% increase in the net monthly income of MSMEs, compared to before participating in the trial. Additionally, the driver partners involved in the program have experienced a 17% increase in their net income
Jakarta, 7 November 2024 - To support President Prabowo Subianto’s Free Nutritious Meals Program, PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (“GoTo” or “GoTo Group”) officially launched on Thursday the Free Nutritious Meals Program in 13 cities/regencies across the country namely Bogor, East Jakarta, Bekasi, Bandung, Solo, Semarang, Surabaya, Malang, Medan, Makassar, Banjarmasin, Pekanbaru, dan Palembang. The program, whose trial has been conducted since May 20, 2024, has covered 31 schools with around 10,000 beneficiary students. This program aims to distribute around 3 million packages of nutritious meals.
This initiative is the manifestation of GoTo’s support as an Indonesian homegrown company that fights for the country for President Prabowo Subianto’s Free Nutritious Meals utilizing the company’s own budget. The program uses a model that empowers MSMEs, driver partners as well as leveraging the company’s digital wallet. The MSMEs that are involved in the program have passed the safety and hygiene standard tests from the Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI) and are also closely supervised by the local Health Agency and Education Agency.

Regarding the economic impact, Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF) conducted research on GoTo’s CSR Free Nutritious Meals Program to measure the potential economic multiplier effect of the free nutritious meal program utilizing an MSMEs empowerment model. INDEF research reveals that the net monthly income of MSMEs participating in the program increases by 33.7% compared to before joining the program, while for the drivers partner, the research finds that they record an increase of 17% in their net income.
