GoPay launches dedicated application for merchants, with flexible disbursement and fraud prevention features

JAKARTA, 25 July 2024 - GoTo Financial, GoTo's financial technology business unit, today announced the launch of the GoPay Merchant app, which is aimed at providing merchants, particularly the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), with greater financial access and enabling them to operate with ease. 

 

Haryanto Tanjo, Head of Merchant Services, GoTo Financial said: “In Indonesia, the number of MSMEs using QRIS is growing, but there are still several barriers to adoption when it comes to digital financial services, such as a lengthy  registration process, the inability to withdraw funds at any time and concerns around potential fraud. The GoPay Merchant app is part of our ongoing efforts to address these barriers and provide MSMEs with safe and reliable financial services. We are just getting started and we will continue developing more features for the app, so that we can meet even more needs for MSMEs across Indonesia."

 

The GoPay Merchant app includes features that are designed with the needs of merchants in mind, specifically around Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) adoption, flexible disbursement, and fraud prevention. 

 

Firstly, it is very easy for merchants to register for QRIS via the GoPay Merchant app. A QRIS code can be created in just 30 seconds after successful registration and can be used immediately to receive payments, making this the fastest QRIS registration process in Indonesia. 

 

Secondly, the app offers flexible disbursement, the first in the industry, allowing merchants to withdraw funds at any time so that they can better manage their finances. 

 

The disbursement feature has benefitted Adam Jodi Firmansyah, owner of the Adam Jaya Fruit Shop in Pasar Rebo, Jakarta. "It is important for us to have sufficient funds every day to pay suppliers. With the flexible disbursement feature in the GoPay Merchant app, I can withdraw the funds at any time, allowing me to use the funds to purchase stock to sell the next day without needing to tap into my reserves to pay for it. I can also set automatic daily fund withdrawals during the store’s closing hours for added convenience.”

 

Thirdly, merchants can use GoPay Spiker, a first-of-its kind device in Indonesia that provides real-time voice notifications upon successful payment. GoPay Spiker eliminates concerns around fraudulent transactions and the need for merchants to manually check the application to accurately verify payments.

 

Nita, the owner of Warung Buffet Dapur Cigeulis Jakarta and a user of GoPay Spiker, said: “With GoPay Spiker, I simply have to listen to the transaction notifications to ensure payment has been received, while preparing customer orders. This helps to prevent fraud, while enabling me to serve customers more quickly, especially during peak hours.”
