Indonesia, 19 December 2022 -Tokopedia continues to amplify its hyperlocal initiatives to all areas in Indonesia to make it easier for everyone to find anything they need. Such hyperlocal initiatives are manifested through several campaigns, for instance, Waktu Indonesia Belanja (WIB) and Kumpulan Toko Pilihan (KTP).

Head of Regional Expansion Central Tokopedia Nafisah Wulandari states, “Tokopedia’s Hyperlocal initiatives in the form of WIB and KTP campaigns have managed to boost transaction in some areas in Indonesia as the year-end approaches. We hope such efforts could continue helping everyone find anything they need while supporting MSMEs owners to grow together.”

Moreover, public enthusiasm towards Tokopedia’s monthly shopping festival known as WIB, which is held from the 25th until the end of the month, has also recorded an increase in transactions.

Tokopedia’s WIB campaign saw an increase in its transaction number by 74% throughout September-November 2022 compared to the previous three months in June-August 2022,” Nafisah added.

According to Tokopedia’s internal data, Medan, Bandung, Malang, Surabaya, and Semarang are considered cities/districts with the highest WIB campaign transaction in the last three months.

Nafisah added, "The WIB campaign also helps business actors, especially local MSMEs, to increase their sales. Tokopedia also recorded an increase in sellers participating in the WIB campaign by 60% during September-November 2022 compared to the previous three months.”

On the other hand, the KTP campaign also recorded a 24% increase in transactions over the past year. Medan, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, and Makassar were also listed as cities/districts with the highest KTP campaign transactions from September-November 2022.

"Hopefully, with its #AlwaysAvailableAlwaysPossible commitment, Tokopedia can continue to support local MSMEs to move forward with us and inspire all Indonesians with an easy and attractive shopping experience - while at the same time contributing to help Indonesia’s national economic recovery," Nafisah concluded.
